This Privacy Policy explains how VV Builder ("we," "the site," or "vvbuilder.online") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit or use the site. By using VV Builder you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Who we are

VV Builder is a fan-made web tool that lets users plan and share skill tree builds for the game VV Ultimatum. The site is operated by an independent hobbyist developer and is not affiliated with the developers of VV Ultimatum or any related rights holder. Contact information is available on the About page.

Information we collect

Information you provide directly

VV Builder does not require an account, signup, email address, or password to use. The only information you provide directly is content you choose to submit, which includes:

• Saved builds. When you save a build, the skill point allocation, attribute distribution, charms, essences, and any optional build name you set are stored so they can be retrieved with a share link or build code.
• Build names. If you name a build, that name becomes publicly visible in the Popular Builds panel. Do not include personal information in build names.
• Votes and views. Likes you give to builds and pages you view are tracked anonymously to power sorting in the Popular Builds panel.

Information collected automatically

When you visit the site, certain technical information is collected automatically by us or our service providers. This includes:

• IP address (used briefly for rate limiting and abuse prevention, not stored long-term in a way tied to your identity)
• Browser type and version, operating system, screen resolution, and device type
• Referring website and pages visited within VV Builder
• Approximate geographic location (country/region only, inferred from IP)
• Date and time of visit, session duration, and interaction events

Cookies and similar technologies

VV Builder uses cookies and similar browser storage to make the site work and to measure traffic. Specifically:

• Essential cookies / local storage. Used to remember your in-progress build, your faction selection, and UI preferences between sessions. Without these the site cannot function correctly.
• Analytics cookies. The site uses Google Analytics (gtag.js) to measure traffic patterns and improve the tool. These cookies collect anonymized usage data.
• Advertising cookies. When advertising is enabled, Google AdSense and its partners may set cookies to serve relevant ads and measure ad performance. See the "Advertising" section below for details and opt-out information.

How we use information

Collected information is used to:

• Operate the build save/share system
• Display the Popular Builds panel
• Improve the tool based on which features are being used
• Prevent abuse, spam, and automated attacks
• Serve and measure advertising (when enabled)
• Diagnose technical problems

We do not sell personal information. We do not build advertising profiles about you ourselves. We do not share your data with third parties except as needed to operate the services listed below.

Third-party services

VV Builder uses the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy that governs its data handling:

• Vercel — hosting and serverless backend. Privacy policy
• Google Analytics — anonymized traffic analytics. Privacy policy
• Google AdSense — display advertising (when enabled). How Google uses ad data
• Google Fonts — typography. Privacy policy
• Firebase — backend storage for saved builds. Privacy policy
• GitHub — asset storage. Privacy policy

Advertising

VV Builder may display advertising provided by Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this site and other sites on the internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this and other sites.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of third-party vendor use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.com (EU).

Children's privacy

VV Builder is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the EU/EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the site, contact us via Discord and the information will be removed.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the GDPR (Europe), the CCPA (California), or similar regulations elsewhere. These rights generally include:

• The right to access information held about you
• The right to request correction or deletion of that information
• The right to object to certain processing
• The right to opt out of personalized advertising

To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the Discord server. Because we collect very little personal information and most data is not tied to identifiable individuals, fulfilling some requests may require additional information from you to locate the relevant records.

Data retention

Saved builds are retained indefinitely so share links continue to work. Anonymous analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention period (currently 14 months). Server logs are retained for a short period (typically 30 days or less) for security and debugging.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
